July 14, 2008 Jacqui: My investment in your service was worth every penny as it allowed me to fast-forward highlighting what I am capable of contributing. After 10 months of conducting my search (and staying with my current employer) using my newly created resume, I have landed an outstanding position. The resume that you created for me was designed to highlight the quality of the accomplishments I have experienced in my business career and downplay the number of positions I have held. The smart executive understands his/her role as a "free agent" – a need to be nimble and responsive to the needs of progressive companies looking for high achievers and best performers (versus clutching on to a lifetime career at a single company, an ideal of the past). The smart company appreciates the modern executive's strategic and agile approach to designing a career and value proposition "story" that matches to corporate needs, one that requires a diversity of experiences and key contributor and leadership roles that advanced him up the career ladder and positioned him to solve the needs and contemporary problems within an ever-shifting global market-place. That's what you helped create for me, a story about what I contributed in my various roles and how I opted to become a "free agent" when my role did not meet my needs as an individual. In fact, when speaking with the CEO of my new opportunity his only comment about my work history was not about how many, but rather "it really looks like you have held some very important positions, much like we need in our company." September 15, 2006 Thought I would drop you a note and let you know how the "Chiefs Selection" went for me. I was appointed the Chief of the Kansas City Kansas Police Department the first week of September. Though there was an extensive assessment process, I believe the resume you prepared outlining my accomplishments was instrumental in me making the final cut.
